I went to a spine clinic a couple of days ago (saw aprn because no way to see doc unless the nurse thinks there’s reason for surgery), and she did the automatic X-ray, saying that it looks fine, but sent me for an MRI. I tried explaining that doctors who specialize in EDS and hypermobility recommend a functional MRI, functional CT or digital motion x-ray (think that’s the name of the last), but she is insisting that since there’s no fracture, those are unnecessary. Insurance will likely deny if I find someone who would listen after a regular MRI would return (likely) normal. Should I be making a request for a second opinion? Thanks!
