I have a full-time job and I've been barely pulling it off. The only reason I've been able to do it up to now is that I have a lot of autonomy and a flexible schedule, and I can work from home much of the time. It's gotten to the point that even all that isn't sufficient to keep me going. I'm thinking about taking a medical leave and then figuring out next steps (either getting my health to a more manageable state or quitting work altogether and applying for disability). I'm in the US and I live alone. I have short-term disability insurance through my employer but I'm worried they won't approve my claim. I haven't said anything to my supervisor yet. I'm afraid of revealing I'm having trouble in case I can't make the leave of absence work financially. Has anyone been through similar and do you have any tips?
