In the vagus nerve book, Stanley Rosenberg says that he's found that the best way to relax tense levator scapulae is to release the supraspinatus. It seems like that muscle is really hard to access with self-massage. Does anyone know of ways to release the supraspinatus on your own? Or does anyone have other ideas for calming down the levator scapulae without causing a neck pain flare-up? I get that a big part of it is reducing forward head posture but I'm not there yet, and in the meantime it'd be great if these weren't so extra fired up all the time.
