Hi everyone, just wanted to say I’ve been a Zebra for 4 months now and unlike with every other exercise scheme I’ve ever tried, I started slowly as advised, doing a gentle class 3 times a week. Now I am finding I can do something gentle or moderate most days and even sometimes the shorter challenging classes. My body feels ready for the increased commitment. BZ (before Zebra) I started things with enthusiasm, only to injure myself and have to stop. What has made all the difference is the encouragement to be kind to myself - Jeannie’s continual reminders to only do what feels comfortable. It is an approach sadly lacking in the fitness industry, where competition with others is subtly encouraged and ideas of success and failure are rife even in so called ‘gentle’ activities like yoga.
