This is an anatomy question. I’m hoping someone here will have a hypermobile perspective because no one else seems to even know what I’m asking. This is also NOT a medical issue for which I’m seeking advice. To be clear, I already know all the important medical things involved are good, thankfully. So… Which muscles are involved in the following? When I walk or hike, I’ll get a band of muscle I can feel across the perianal area. With that comes a bit of inability to hold urine. Which muscles are being compensated for in my gait? When I ease up on walking/hiking, the band relaxes as do the incontinence symptoms. Other info: kegels make incontinence worse so I’m thinking I’m hypertonic from bracing. But of course, every doc and PT recommends MORE kegels. It’s as if I haven’t even spoken. Sigh. Anyway, I’m guessing this is a glute/quad weakness situation. I’m doing the hip & knee classes btw. Thanks in advance for your insights!
