Hand/Thumb Arthritis: I have done a lot of reading on hand osteoarthritis (supposed “wear and tear”, not Rheumatoid) and it really bothers me how the role of hypermobility is ignored in pretty much all the general information articles, which insist that hallmarks of OA are morning stiffness and the need for exercises to increase range of motion. Neither apply to me - what about other zebras? Since women are more commonly affected by hand OA, and hypermobility itself is also common, wouldn’t you think more clinicians would connect the dots? Arrrggghh.
