I could really really use some suggestions from anyone with experience dealing with medical insurance in the US please. My clinical geneticist ordered a Tilt Table Test last year, bcs I have so many symptoms of POTS - passing out, heart stuff, nausea, etc., etc. I had to schedule it way out in each place I went, and then had to cancel due to moving unexpectedly. The third, and final, time, I called the neurology clinic at least 4 times to make sure that it would be approved by my insurance BEFORE having the test done. I told them I didn’t want to do the test, if it wouldn’t be covered. They assured me that it would be no problem and didn’t need to be preapproved. However, I never got this in writing (didn’t even cross my mind to ask). Now my insurance is denying the claim saying that it is an unnecessary, experimental test. I have submitted a request to review, but am very stressed about this. Any suggestions? Thanks for your patience. (Please notify me if inappropriate.)
